You will need to solve a crossword about lighthouse vocabulary to find out where in the park you will start. Please email me at ColoMich94@hotmail.com to get the crossword puzzle and you'll be on your way. Once you figure out your ‘starting point’ you can follow the clues below to find this letterbox.

We did not plant ink with this letterbox so you will need to make sure you have some with you. The best color would be blue.

Difficulty level: Easy! This is not a paved path, but it is a hard packed dirt path with roots along the way. A jogger stroller could go over this trail.

Duration: About an hour
Distance: Less than a mile up and back from your starting point.
Where: Ludington State Park

Getting There:
8 miles N. of Ludington on Lakeshore Dr. and M-116 Hwy.
From Ludington, take Lakeshore Drive north for eight miles. Lakeshore Drive becomes M-116, follow M-116 to the end to the park entrance.

Once you’ve paid a user fee/admission at the main gate, ask for a trail map, or you can download one at: http://www.michigandnr.com/parksandtrails/trailinfo.asp?id=262 before you head out. If you have solved the crossword and know where you are supposed to start find that place on the map. There are several ways to get to the starting point so you will have to choose where you want to park and start your trek.

Clues:

These clues start from the ‘starting point’ that you found when you solved the crossword puzzle. At this starting point follow the brown arrow.

Follow this trail until you come to the point where the park is open for hunting.

From here go 17 paces farther up the path. On your left is a large fallen sawed off tree. Reach around behind and inside to find this light for your path.

Thanks for taking the time to find our letterbox. We have other boxes in this park, so don’t miss them! :-)
