"The Crow Country is good country. The Great Spirit has put it exactly in the right place. While you are in it, you fare well; whenever you go out of it, which ever way you travel, you fare worse.

The Crow Country is in the right place, it has snowy mountains and sunny plains and all kinds of climates and good things for every season. The Crow Country is exactly in the right place, everything is good to be found there. There is no Country like Crow Country."

This quote from a chief of the River Crows reflects my feelings for this lesser known corner of Big Sky country. Whenever I drive through it I can imagine its great beauty before it was over grazed and over populated.

To find the letter box take exit #497 off I-90 and head to the Big Horn county historical museum visible to the west of the interstate. Here you'll find local information, lots of interesting exhibits, a picnic area, and plenty of space to stretch your legs.

Head to the Lodge Grass train station and find car #5 sitting on the tracks. On the station side of the car facing the car's front steps, look to your right for a box with "national" on it near the wheels. Open the top of the box (it's stiff, kids may need help) and inside - be careful its greasy - you'll find a camoflauged Altoid box.

Please be sure to close the gate. The museum staff says kick it if necessary. Thanks!
