At around 10:00 p.m. on April 21, 1977, 17 year old William Bartlett was driving down Farm Street in Dover, Massachusetts when he saw a creature along the top of a stone wall. It was about 4 feet tall with glowing orange eyes. It had no nose or mouth and a watermelon-shaped head.

No one else in the car saw the creature, but two hours later 15 year old John Baxter reported seeing the creature while walking in a wooded area along Miller Hill Road.

A third sighting took place the next night when 15 year old Abby Brabham saw a similar creature sitting upright on Springdale Avenue.

Thirty years have gone by and the creature has not been seen since.

To find the Dover Demon Letterbox go to the Cathedral Pines section of Chase Woodlands in Dover, MA and find trail marker #17. From #17 head downhill on the trail in a north easterly direction for roughly 100 paces. You will come to a stone wall crossing the trail. Take a right turn and follow the wall south and up a small hill. At the top of the rise is a small stump on the west side of the wall.

The Dover Demon Letterbox hides under a rock at the base of the north side of the stump.

Warning: this location was carefully chosen as the geographic center of the three sightings. Keep your eyes open and you may be the next to spot the Dover Demon.
