Finally back in the park. In a new spot.

History: Settlement of Mount Kisco began about 1719 around a grist mill built on the Kisco River near what is now Leonard Park.

In 1955, Lila and Dewitt Wallace of Readers Digest gave Mount Kisco 27 acres to enlarge the village's Leonard Park. The park, which now comprises 116 acres, has four baseball fields, four tennis courts, a Frisbee golf course and other athletic facilities. In winter, ice skaters on the park's Wallace Pond can warm their hands at a stone fireplace in a glass-fronted Japanese-style pavilion. In summer, the Rotary Club stocks the pond with trout and gives prizes to youngsters for the largest, smallest and first fish caught.

Directions to Letterbox: Enter Leonard Park and park in spaces facing "tea house" and the pond. In the summer, the town has a guard posted nearby. Park in these spaces before guard's post. You will see bridge that leads to "tea house" When you cross the bridge you will see a waterfall on your left. Walk towards the backside of the "tea house." You will see scattered picnic tables. You should pass an area of large tree logs. As you walk passed, you will begin to see a trail. On the left will be a tree with 3 pelican signs on it. To your right will be a area with 5 picnic tables in it. Take (approx. 28 steps) to the rock "bluff." Stand in the middle and you will see a large tree with the initials M.M. carved on it. Directly behind you sits the box in a clump of three big rocks. It is covered with sticks and stones. This is a very busy area. Many, many, many children use this park. If the box is seen or found it will disappear. Please rehide well with same natural items.
