Begin your countdown at the main pond at Richard M. Nixon County Park. This is a wonderful 161 acre park established in 1973. Maps are available at the park or you can get one here. http://ycwebserver.york-county.org/Parks/PDF/2006maps/RMN.pdf

Go left and walk along the pond until you see the start of Bird Hollow Trail. Follow Bird Hollow. Shortly you will cross a bridge to the left. Continue to follow Bird Hollow, the stream will be on your right. You will see steps going off to the left, stay straight. After a while you will go down some steps and over a bridge. There will be benches up ahead where Bird Hollow trail dead ends into Old Field trail. Go right onto the Old Field trail, taking the steps up.

As you get close to the farmer's field, going uphill, you'll see a tree on the right, right on the path with a red marker on it. In 12 paces (keep in mind that I'm short) you'll be standing next to another tree with a red marker on it. Stand at this tree and look to the right into the woods. At 20 degrees you'll see a three-trunked tree. The trunks will be hiding behind each other from this angle. Starting at the marker tree, taking 14 paces into the woods, you should be standing at the three-trunked tree. At the base of this tree, on the east side (the side from which you came), under sticks and leaves, you should find your ticket to ride. 3- 2- 1- Blast Off!

Note: I planted this box in winter but it looks as if a prickly vine could make this difficult to get to in the growing season. Please keep me posted if you find this to be the case. Thanks!
