Hi all, this is our first box posted!

The Rose Garden is in Exposition Park right next to USC in Los Angeles. A trip to there is extra nice if you can stop by some of the great museums on its campus, including the California Science Center and the Natural History Museum among others (www.nhm.org/expo/expopark.htm). The Rose Garden itself is open from March 16th to December 31st from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (though many internet sites say it stays open until dusk). Parking is easy along Exposition between Vermont and Figueroa if you bring quarters for meters. Otherwise, you can pay $6 to park all day in the museum campus.

To get to the letterbox, start from the exterior of the Rose Garden's brick wall that surrounds the whole garden. Walk to the Northwest corner of the brick wall. Then walk South (towards the Science Museum) and count brick pillars as you walk (including the first pillar and all the big corner brick pillars). When you reach number 52, stop. Now the trick is that you have to make a note of this pillar because now you will walk to the inside of the Rose Garden. Find the same pillar and note that you will have to walk into the trees and bushes to get there. The flower tree closest to the pillar is where the letterbox is hiding. Reach into the fork of branches at the base of the tree and you should find the box!

Good luck!
