"BRANDYWINE CREEK CACHE"
Travel to the City of Four Flags. Find the site of the Fort of the first flag over Michigan, France 1691. This is Fort St. Joseph, on the corner of Bond and Fort Streets, Niles, Michigan. (Take Hwy. 51 north from Hwy. 12 to Taco Bell, turn left. This is Fort Street. At the deadend is Bond Street. )
Read about our Michigan history at Fort St. Joseph, then travel south on Bond St. to Odd Fellows Lane (Niles Township Park).
At the end of the lane is a children's playground. Sit on the last swing and look 10 o'clock sharp down the wooded path. Take this path to glory.
Stand on John Owicki, and spy out your next landmark -- a blue bench. Go there.
From there, spy out the brown cabin, and set your sight for there. Take your journey down the 15 planks.
Take a rest on the green park bench. After your rest, follow Brandywine Creek upstream.
Look for the jumbled logs on your left. (If you reach a crescent log in your path, you've gone too far!) Your treasure is in a hollow behind the logs.
