When traveling past Exit 56 on Interstate 80, you can’t help but see the Flags of Freedom. It is Princeton’s way of thanking all veterans for their many sacrifices for freedom. These four flags proclaim, loud and clear, “We Are Free”!! Each flag measures 30’ X 60’ and weighs 110 pounds. My tribute is much smaller and can be found at the EASTBOUND rest area (around mile marker 52)just before you see the flags in Princeton.

Pull into the rest area and park in the first parking space. Step out onto the sidewalk, pull out your compass and dial up 255 degrees. Follow this bearing to the tree line, find the decaying tree and check in back at the bottom - right hand side.

Good luck & happy hunting! Please use extreme stealth when retrieving. Thanks!
