Leave only footprints is located at Kerrville-Schreiner Parkat the junction of Loop 534 and Texas 173.It's a great spot to see deer up-close and personal. (Don't touch.)
Go to the welcome center and pay to get the combination to the west side of the park. $3 per person over 13, but they do continue to honor the Texas Passport even though the park is no longer managed by TPWD.
Go to the west side of the park and follow the map to Trailhead #3. Hike the trail, 43 steps to the first yellow trail marker. When you come to the second yellow trail marker, there is a fork in the trail. Bear right. At the third yellow trail marker, you will see a rocky clearing to your right with 3 small cedar trees roughly in a line away from you. Bearing 320 degrees, walk 47 steps to a multi-trunk cedar tree. At the base of the tree, on the far side, is a small cairn. Underneath, find footprints.
Let us know you found it, and please rehide well.
