This box is located in North East San Antonio at Comanche Lookout Loop. To get to Comanche Lookout Loop from exit 172 on I-35 north of San Antonio, take Loop 1604 west for 1.5 miles to FR 2252, Nacogdoches Road. Head west on Nacogdoches Road, toward San Antonio for 1 mile. The trailhead at Comanche Lookout Park will be on your right.
From the parking lot there are a couple of trailheads. Find the main trail head with a map of Comanche Lookout. From the trailhead stay on the main, wide, paved trail. Take 85 steps from the trailhead and you will come to a disabled access sign. From the sign continue on the paved trail for 175 steps. At 175 steps there should be a bench on left hand side of the trail. Continue on the main trial and count 180 steps from the bench. At 180 steps there will be a path on the left hand side of the trail. Also at this point there will be metal trail markers, a trash can and a disabled access sign. You will take the left path about 15 steps to a bench on the right hand side of the path. While sitting on the bench you will see a small rocky trail. From the edge of the asphalt take 6 steps onto the rocky trail. Turn right and take 13 steps to a multi-trunk tree. The letterbox will be hidden in the middle of the tree.
