This box was replaced on May 26, 2012 in a new location in the cemetery.

This lb is located in the Cedar Hill Cemetery where numerous confederate soldiers are buried. The cemetery is very close to the Vicksburg National Park.

Find the Confederate section of this beautiful old cemetery and locate the “Confederate Dead” memorial statue. Go past the statue and take the first right onto “12th”. Continue down the drive, turn right onto the small, grassy “K Street Ext” road and park. At the corner on the right is a large monument for Elizabeth M. Kennedy. Behind this stone is a family tomb partially hidden by a tree. To the left of this tomb is another tomb behind a Woodsmen of the World monument. To get to the box, go around the tomb to the door and notice the two engraved stones in the tomb, especially the one on the right. Now facing the door, go to the left side of the tomb to a multi branched tree next to a tall cedar. The box is hanging in the middle of the multi branched tree.

Be sure to find the “The Price of Freedom” letterbox while in this cemetery.
