Rumor has it that a lot of young people, including my mom and dad, went and watched the submarine races at numerous lakes and rivers in the Hattiesburg area. One of these is Peps Point. So enjoy, if the kids are with you then you might just want to take your swim trunks and go swimming instead...

Pep’s Point Water Park is a spring-fed lake facility offering a sandy beach, swimming, water slides, canoe and paddleboat rentals, picnic areas, and camp sites. The park is officially open from the second week of May through the second week of September and entrance fees might be charged during the “season”. However, when this box was placed, it was off-season, no one was around to ask questions or take money, and I was able to drive right on in.

Take I-49 north out of Hattiesburg. Turn right on Pep’s Point Road (unsigned), at the big sign for “Mack’s On The River”. If you reach the Apple Barn Fruit Stand, turn around and go back to a sign for Mack’s and turn left. Cross the bridge and go to the left at the fork in the road; there is a small sign for Pep’s Point on a tree in front of you at the fork. Continue until you get to the park on the right. Drive in and curve around the building to the right. Find the brown wooden footbridge over the water and walk across. Locate a cement slab on your left. The box is on the far side of the slab between two wooden posts running under the slab.
