Status of Letterbox: Alive and Well on 12/28/2008
The "I Salute You" letterbox is dedicated to all of you, the Letterboxers who have searched for my boxes in the past. This is my 250th placed box, and is located in Telge Park (which has the 2nd most boxes in Texas!). Thank you for all your finds, notes, and help in carrying for my boxes!
Directions:
From Hwy 290 from Houston, exit Telge Road. Go right on Telge. Cross Cypress North Houston, then Cypress Creek, then turn right at 1st street and park on right at park (you will see it as you pass the creek bridge).
To the Letterbox:
Enter the park gate, and go right along fence down to the creek. Walk through wooden openings, then climb up the ramp and cross the bridge. On far side, go down the ramp adn go under the bridge. Continue across the grass along the creek until you reach the tree line. Now take the faint trail and count 37 steps. Now go uphill on faint trail and find a more defined trail. Go right on this trail and count 45 steps. You should be at the bottom of a wash. Continue up the trail another 13 steps and stop. Look left and spot the large oak tree on the ridge. Work your way to the back of this tree. The box is hanging( *** Due to Hurricane, box is on ground now, at this tree)) about 5 feet up on a yupon tree on the back side of the oak tree. Please be sure to re-hang it well!!! Thanks Again!!
