** NOTE: 9'08 A courteous fellow letterboxer notified us that this box has apparently been vandalized and the logbook destroyed. Scrapbook pages have been placed in it temporarily for you to sign. Please reseal well.

** NOTE: There is poison ivy in the area, though not immediately around the box - just be aware.
In early June '07 we checked the status of our box and found it was left unsealed and the log book inside destroyed by rain :-(
A new log book has been placed. Please be courteous and RESEAL well.

Five gals from Kansas, got together one day,
Four of them heard, one of them say,
"We need adventure, our life's in a rut,
Let's try letterboxing." the others said "What?"
Then came the thought, "That idea is great,
What a challenge, oh we can't wait!"
So they gathered their gear and set out to cruise
A spot in Pott. Co. is the place they would choose
They left Manhattan, going east from the mall
Passing businesses on 24, both great and small
They drove 14 miles to where the arches
Grace Wamego town
Where they stopped and put a Big Mac down
They drove on east to the town of Belvue
They looked around, then drove straight on through
One and a half more miles they followed the course
To a Wells Creek Church sign, where they turned north
They followed that road, for a half mile to it's tee
Went left, 1/4 mile, then right into a park they could see
Twas the Oregon Trail Park. They shouted with glee.
"This is it!" Then they set out to hide
Their letterbox with the journal inside.
They circled the silo till round they came
To the date of the work and the artist's name,
A fine mural by C. Martin of Kansas fame
They walked 25 steps north and started east up hill,
162 steps, on blacktop, for hikers, it's run of the mill.
When they got to the top, where the blacktop is nil
They paused, did a 180 degree turn
And walked 27 steps back down the hill
They faced left, then walked 25 feet. Look around
Is it high, is it low, is it near, in the ground?
