The March series is located in Nichols Green Park, part II in Jacksonville. I chose this park because green is the color of St Patrick’s day and also the color of spring. To get to the park, drive down South 69 out of Jacksonville and the entrance to the park is on your left. Enter the park and park near the playground. You will see an area to play horseshoes. Start here. Facing the horseshoe area from the sidewalk, walk to your left
towards the woods.

Dr Seuss Birthday Box
Dr Seuss was born on March 2, 1904, so the first box is in tribute to him. To get to the box walk into the woods to the trashcan. Stand on the cement with your back to the
trashcan. You will see a large cedar tree on the opposite side of the sidewalk. Walk to the cedar tree. Behind the cedar is a double trunk tree. Dr Seuss is waiting for you
behind the double trunk tree. Now go back to the sidewalk and continue your walk.

Alfred Hitchcock Day Box This box has been retired as of June 2012. The other boxes are still available.
I am not sure why March 12th has been set aside as a holiday for Alfred Hitchcock. It is not his birthday, but it is listed as his holiday. Stand in front of the trash can on the line in the paved path. Count 29 lines in the path and stop. There should be a group of 3 trees on your left with a couple of large rocks at their base. Hitchcock is at the base behind those three trees. Once you have found the Alfred Hitchcock box, continue on down the trail.

St Patrick’s Day (March 17th)
The luck of the Irish says that at the end of the rainbow is a pot of gold. I am not sure if there will be a rainbow or not, but a leprauchan awaits you. Once you have gotten past the hill on your left, you will see a little trail that goes to the left. Follow the trail to the left to the first cedar tree on your right. Look ahead of you and to the right and you will see a group of 4 fairly large trees. The leprauchan and his gold are waiting for you between those trees. Now go back to the cement sidewalk and continue.

Spring Begins (March 21st/22nd)
I always say that my birthday present from Mother Nature is spring, since my birthday falls on the 21st. As you continue down the sidewalk, you will approach a big bend to the right. Stop at the line in the cement in the bend, so that you are directly between the fences on both sides of the sidewalk. Now starting with this line in the cement count 16 lines and stop. Look to your right for what looks like a 3 trunk tree (it is actually a double trunk tree. Spring is at the base of that tree on the side closest to the sidewalk. Now continue on the cement trail.

National Goof Off Day (March 22nd)
I didn’t even know there was such a day, but I figured it was definitely worth celebrating. So to get to the box, walk a short distance from Spring until you see a large rock on the left next to the trail. Stop at the East side of the rock line on a line in the sidewalk. Including this line count 4 lines and look left to a rock next to a tree. Walk behind this tree and then walk 11 steps and you will see another rock leaning agains a tree. (It has a
large vine on top of it.) The Goof off box is behind this rock/tree....Enjoy the view of the pond while you are here.

As always please make sure that all boxes are covered. Please let me know the status of these boxes. Also beware of snakes and other creepy crawlies...ENJOY!!!!
