Box at the 1868 Battery in Fort Mason.
Start at Ghiardelli Square. Walk west toward the pier at Aquatic Park. Pass the Maritme Museum. Cross the abandoned railroad tracks.
Look left to the water cisterns. Take the small steps adjacent to the cisterns. The steps wind around to the top of the hill. From the picnic area at the top, look right toward the cannon guarding the Golden Gate. A low brick wall starts on your right and heads toward the cannon. At the first point where the wall veers outward, the lowest row of bricks is partially absent. Look inside for a visitor from Philadelphia.
Box was placed by Buckaroo Banzai and his brother. Carved by Miz Scarlet, who had to stay home. As of 4-5-07 box reported missing. Would like a few more reports before I archive box. It's a nice little spot and worth a look even without a box so if you are in the neighborhood take a peek and send me line.
