From 500 South (turning into Foothill) turn North on Wakara Way. Go all of the way to the top until you reach a stop sign (Chipeta Way). Turn left and drive through Fort Douglas (Conner Road). Take a right on Stover Street and head up toward the amphitheater. Wind through campus parking and take the road next to the amphitheater to the parking lot just before the yellow gate with the sign that says “road closed”. Park your car.

Continue walking past this sign. There will be a stream (and Red Butte Gardens) on the other side of a black fence on your right. Pass a small stone wall on your left and a clearing (also on your left) until you come to the second gate. There will be a bridge over the stream on your right. Cross the bridge and continue on the path. Cross the second bridge and continue on the main trail. The trail will descend a short ways and then will ascend to its first small summit. There will be a sign to your right at this point that says “revegetation area”. Just past the sign is a small clump of scrub oak directly on your right? Behind the “V” where two trees meet there is a mound of rocks. Here is where you will find our letterbox. Careful! This is a heavily populated trail!
