From the trailhead to the Bob Jones Trail, walk about 1.5 miles, past the houses on the right, past the playground on your left, to where the bike path ends at 3 yellow poles, the word STOP written on the ground, and the trail meets a road built for cars. From this point, count 100 steps. You will see a small dam on your left, and a rocky cliff to your right. An amazing tree root has grown through this rock, twisting along a crack, pushing the rocks apart. At about 7 feet from ground level (it's a simple thing to climb a couple feet up to reach it) is hidden the box, behind the root, under some rocks. PLEASE be discreet as this is a busy trail. You can continue ahead on the trail another half mile or so to the town of Avila Beach, or turn back to your car. This is a flat, easy paved trail, perfect for bikes, kids, dogs, wheelchairs ...
