Nearest Town: La Push
County: Clallam
Location: Cedar Creek, Washington Coast
From Hwy 101, north or south, take the 110 west (also called La Push Road). Drive 7.6 miles to Mora Road. Turn right and continue to the Rialto Beach Parking Area, 4.8 miles.
Park in the day use parking area. Hike approximately 4.5 miles to Chilean Memorial and camp. The next day, hike approximately 4.4 miles to Cedar Creek and set up camp.
Hike north out of the main campground at Cedar Creek. Climb the rope ladder at the nearby overland route. Hike to the top of the hill where the trail forks. Hike up the trail on your left. The trail climbs and cuts across and up the steep bank. Watch your step. Near the top of the hill, find a tree that looks like a seat. It will be located on your right, about twenty feet from the top of the lookout point. Look under the tree and find the “Cedar Creek Letterbox.”
After replacing the letterbox, continue up to the top of the hill. Enjoy one of the most spectacular views on the Washington coast.
