SEVEN ISLANDS WILDLIFE REFUGE

If you are reading this message and don’t know where is this place, you can Google Seven Islands Wildlife Refuge and find out its location and all about it. Use this letterbox as a reason to get out and drive here through a really beautiful area (Kodak Rd.) along the French Broad River. If you enjoy birding, hiking, vistas, contemplating nature, letterboxing, and all in an environment where there is hardly anybody around, you will enjoy your visit.

Here are easy clues to the letterbox:

Drive into the parking lot and take the “Overlook Trail”. Walk (sorry, its uphill) about 350 yards on grassy trail. (Aside: maybe 100 yards up you will pass by a geocache to your right - keep an eye open for a likely place).

Walk to the old line of large hackberrys and there, camouflaged, in the arms of the biggest, will be your treasure.

Bring own water/drinks. Porta-potty available.
