Roughly 15-18 miles From I-81, Exit 1 in Bristol, Virginia:
Take Gate City Hwy (Rt. 58) north to
Right on Reedy Creek Rd. (Rt. 633, keep a lookout for the llamas on the right)to
Left on Benhams Rd. (Rt.640, there's a little gas station, beauty salon and a horse farm at this intersection) to
Right on Nordyke Rd. (Rt. 622, there is a closed little store here)You'll see beautiful scenery, funny goats, lots of cows & farms. Make a
Right on Appaloosa Rd. (Rt. 798, Don't cross the river at this intersection, this bridge is not as exciting as the one you are about to see. You're getting very close now, keep going!
You might spot some great blue herons down by the water.
Stop at the pretty, white, little Methodist Church at the intersection of Perchion Rd. and park your car. You're there!
The box is under the steps of the swinging bridge.
Go out to the middle of the bridge (please be respectful, the other side is private property and please don't jump on it or rock it) and feel how wierd it feels as it sways up and down and side to side at the same time. Look up and down the North Holston River.
Some nice dogs may come to visit you.
