***This box has been temporarily shut down while we build a replacement. Please stay tuned***

This Letterbox is located at Adams Point in Durham, NH, adjacent to the Jackson Estuarine Lab. Dogs are welcome, but someone invited the mosquitoes too. So, if you are trying to find this letterbox "in season", you might want to bring the bug spray.

Start by parking in the Estuarine Lab parking lot (all the way at the end of the road, on the left.) The trails are off to the right of the road. Start at the "authorized vehicles only" gate and head off along the trail to the right. At the end, you will face an eroded drop to the rocky beach. Don't go there. Instead make a right and head along that trail. Pass Hyde's bench, and note the islands on your left. Continue and pass through a break in a stone fence. The trail will narrow, and falls off to the water on your left. No baby carriages here. Hold on to your kids. Continue along the trail until you get to an outcropping of LARGE rocks and an opening in the trees to allow a clear view of the bay and the islands. This large group of rocks is where you'll find The Adams Point Cache/Letterbox. Please rehide it as you found it.

Now, you can continue forward along the trail and it will exit near the parking lot, or go back and enjoy the views of the bay.

We hope you enjoy our first Letterbox. For those of you interested in Geocaching, it is also a cache and the normal geocaching rules apply.

http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.asp?ID=4710 is where you'll find the info.

Happy Hunting!
