This is our very first letterbox, hopefully of many. We placed it in Singing Wind Municipal Park which is on Singing Wind Drive off Loop 534. When heading north into Kerrville on Hwy 27, turn right on Loop 534 toward Hwy 16. Approximately 0.5 miles down, turn left onto Singing Wind Drive. After 0.5 miles, turn right into Singing Wind Park’s first entrance (the playground.)
Enter playground, and find the largest spiral slide. With the slide between you and the parking lot, look 60º to find a brown and yellow park sign that reads, “HIKE AND BIKE TRAIL. NO GROUND FIRES. LEASH LAW INFORCED [sp]. HELP KEEP OUR PARKS CLEAN.” Go to the sign and get on the path. Just behind the sign is a brown wooden bridge. Go 68 paces (1pace=2steps) down the trail to find a set of stairs. Climb stairs, then proceed 66 paces to a second stair set. From the top step of the second set, look straight ahead (20º) to see a cedar tree 11 paces out. (If the tree is at the intersection of the trail and a yellow service road, you’ve found the one.) On the east (right) side of the tree at its base, find a small, white rockpile. Peace on earth is under the rockpile.
Happy hunting! Please rehide well, and let us know that you found it!
** confirmed missing. we'll have to replace this one. coming soon.
