As you set out to locate "The Spirit of Cleburne" box enjoy the park and bring your swimsuits for a swim at Splash Station. The pool is open year-round. (For more info on Splash Station 817-556-6259)

Directions:
From interstate 35W going south take Hwy 174.
You’ll travel through Burleson and Joshua
(In Burleson the locals know 174 as Wilshire Blvd and in Joshua it’s called Broadway.)
Continue driving south on 174 to Cleburne. As your coming to the southern edge of town take a right on Westhill then a left onto Hillsboro Street. At first stop sign take a right onto W. Second.

Whistle Stop Park and the Splash Station share a parking lot. You’ll see the Spirit of Cleburne as soon as you turn next to Splash Station. Park there and get out admiring the old retired locomotive.

If you’re facing the engine with Splash Station behind you, follow the concrete walking path to your left (at the “Y” stay to your right) the path will take you between the playground and the pavilion. At the end of the sidewalk you’ll be facing storage buildings across the street. Go left and follow the sidewalk over the bridge. At the corner of Walnut and Westhill make a U-Turn on the sidewalk and walk down towards the creek. Go left under the bridge. After the concrete ledge on your left comes to an end, start counting concrete squares until you reach 29. If you reach a metal square in the walkway, you have gone one too far. On your left is a small trail leading into the woods. Take about 10 steps into the woods then turn 90 degrees to your right. A few feet ahead is a large tree that has a concrete slab leaning against it. There, buried at the base you’ll find the first letterbox I've ever planted. It’s a tribute to my dad. Originally planted on what would have been his 57th birthday (January 3rd, 2007, updated 10/12/2013). Enjoy the hunt!
