Ke’e Beach
This box like just about every box on Hawaii is an orphan. Please be prepared to do some maintenance if necessary.
Last 2 finders report a lot of mosquitos so take your bug spray. Guess it depends on the weather or time of year as there were no bugs when we hid it!
In place as of Feb 08.

Here’s a box you can locate without climbing the Kahalua trail. Brush up on Hawai’ian tree identification before proceeding and bring your compass. Head straight for the beach from the paved road in Haena State Park, past the trailhead on your left. Walk along the sandy shore heading north, count your steps. Note the tropical almond trees on your right. These have large oval leaves and large oval “almonds” that you find littering beaches all over the islands. These are followed by ironwoods or casuarinas with exposed roots. At about 200 steps will you will come to another clump of almond trees. Look back and admire the fabulous view! Head inland (east) here. Check to make sure you will not be seen as you head for the box. At the top of the rise check your compass. At 65 degrees look into the woods for a very large casuarina covered with vines. Please do not retrieve if people are nearby. It is about 30 - 40 steps away and has a long fallen tree pointing directly at it and the hiding spot. Check the base of the casuarina where the fallen tree touches, just to the left and up about a foot. Camo jar is its under the exposed roots and leaf litter. No digging or heavy lifting! Walk away to stamp in. Rehide and do a complete 360 walk around to make sure you have rehidden box so that it is not visible. If you appreciated looking for this box why not drop me line?
