Santa’s Treasure Box

For centuries, Santa Clause has brightened the lives of hundreds of children by bringing them toys and gifts to share and enjoy on Christmas day. Of course, these presents are always left under Christmas trees and inside stockings. More importantly, Santa also helps to fill people’s lives with the spirit of Christmas, and continual joy and love for all people to share throughout the year. After all, gifts from the heart's of our friends and loved ones are the most precious gifts of all – they are true treasures one might say!

Many people, however, do not know that Santa leaves hidden treasure boxes under Christmas trees in all sorts of towns and cities for people to discover! These treasure chests serve as reminders for all people to show how truly important gifts from the heart are, and to keep away from focusing on material gifts solely.

There are catches, however, to finding Santa’s Treasure Boxes….people must search for them in the beginnings of a New Year, after they have enjoyed the holidays with family and friends. In order to view the boxes, people must also be accompanied by at least one loved one or friend to share in the joy of finding the boxes.

Today, I was lucky enough to find one of these community treasure boxes in my hometown of Liverpool, N.Y. The box can still be spotted under the large Christmas Tree in town near the local library (as long as the guidelines above are followed). The library is located on a street named after a “Springtime blossom of joy”, and is also near Heid’s restaurant and “Lights on the Lake”.

If you are driving South on Route 57, go past the thruway entrances and drive straight into town – you should see the tree on the way to the library. If you are driving from Old Liverpool Rd., go past Heid’s toward the library. There are many locations near the Christmas Tree where you can park while you search for the box. Also, please remember to recover the box well!

Good luck – and don’t forget to remember the spirit of Christmas throughout the year and share your gifts from the heart with everyone you meet!
