You will not need a compass as long as you know North from South and East from West. Start at the Milford Oval. Head South on South St for about a mile until you see the Milford DPW garage. Turn in and park on the North side of the building in the parking lot for the Granite Town Rail Trail. Go over the foot bridge and follow path that will bring you to the old dam across Great Brook. The brook flows north back towards town. Remember brook flows north! Cross the brook and follow trail to the old railroad bed. Head south on the old bed. Walk about 5 to 10 minutes until you see an old gravel pit to your west. Look to the southeast you will a stonewall heading out towards the brook. A little ways farther on the west side of the trail there are 2 wooden posts. Look to the southeast up the smaal embankment on the east side of the trail. About a hundred fet away yoiu will see a White Birch tree. Go to the birch, using the 2 posts and the birch as a line keep going in the same direction another 60 to 70 feet you will see a Maple tree shaped like a "U" Letterbox is at the base on the East side.
