River Road Park is less than 1 mile from the junction of River Road and Rosendale Road. This portion of Rosendale Road is north of Route 7, east of Balltown Road / Route 146. The park consists of a playground area, basketball courts, softball fields and paved areas children enjoy rollerblading on. The short hiking trail system provides fitness stations. Most likely you will see dogs on this popular trail. Although Niskayuna has a leash law, well-behaved dogs enjoy the freedom of running under the control of their cautious owners. Zoe is a special black and white dog you might encounter as she enjoys her independence at this park.
Zoe's Friend was carved by Phynstar and presented to Pig Tail on her tenth birthday.
Park in the circular parking area at the back of the park. Walk to the immediate wide trail you’ll see entering the woods. Make the first left onto a grassy trail. At the T, turn right and follow the windy trail until you come to Fitness Station #7. After you do some push-ups, stand against the higher bar with your back to the trail. Take a reading of 60 degrees and head 25 steps to find Zoe’s Friend hidden under the fallen trees.
Remember, dogs are such a bonus to our lives. They certainly are a Wonder!

Return to the trail and continue in the same direction to loop back to where you started (or stop for Go Zoe Go!).
