This box has a hand carved stamp, bring your own stamp pad.

This letterbox is about half way between Geneseo and Atkinson on Hwy 6. You can reach it easily off I80 going in either direction -- its about 5 miles from I80 from the Geneseo exit. Or from the Atkinson exit it's 3.2 miles.

Take hwy 6 east through Geneseo (Hwy 6 parallels Interstate 80). About 4 miles east of the Farm & Fleet in Geneseo is a black granite marker that looks like a head stone (on the north side of Hwy 6 at 1900 E Street). There are three small shrubs behind the marker, and two large trees. Stop and read the marker of how 2 students and 1 teacher were killed while returning to school from a picnic outing.

I was unable to find a "hiding place" for the letterbox at this location, but please stop and read this marker. Now get yourself turned around so you are heading south on 1900 E street. Cross over Hwy 6 go up the hill, under I80 and there is a cemetery on the left side of the road (this is 1/2 mile south of the memorial). Turn left (east) just before the cemetery there is a tree stump that holds "3 lit candles" in the memory of the 3 lives lost on that day 75 years ago.

Please recover with sticks and hide well when you are done. Also, please seal up baggies tightly. Thanks and enjoy.
