Snowy Hill Letterbox
Mendon Ponds Park NY placed by Slugger
****Park along the road near the hill where ever you can. Get out and walk to the lower hill nearest the road.
Clue:
Douglas Road, near Stewart Lodge
There are some hills the where sled’s you’ll dodge
Climb to the top, now face west
(walk or sled whatever’s best)
Down one hill, up and over the next
‘till last you stop (don’t break your necks)
You’ll find there off to your left
A trail that enters a tree line cleft
Follow this (you’re headed south)
On towards the Boat Launch, now watch your mouth
Round a bend with Launch ahead,
stop your forward facing tread
Turn to your left, face up the hill
Your quest you soon will fulfill
A three-trunk tree you’ll see up there,
The third trunk hides the prize beyond compare.
***If we get a lot of snow this box will not be accessible. If slopes are icy sledding is not recommended at all. This hill is a lot of fun and very dangerous all the same.
