"Patoka" is alive and well and back in its hiding place as of April 8, 2007.
PATOKA, INDIANA
Hwy. 41, 5 miles north of Princeton, 20 miles south of Vincennes.
It is a wonder and a blessing that a town so small can hold so many beloved people and memories.
DIRECTIONS:
Take Highway 41 to Patoka, turning east at the Dream Motel. Follow the road to the first stop sign you come to and turn left onto Main Street. Turn right at the third road you come to, Cross Street. Follow Cross to East Street and turn right. You will be at the Oak Hill Cemeter. Pull over immediately. You will see an enormous tree that has grown into the fence that surrounds the cemetery. At the base of this tree is a perfect door-shaped opening. A close inspection should reveal your prize.
