From I-65, Take the Park City exit 48. Take a right off the exit. About 1 mile off the exit you will come to Diamond Caverns. Notice the walking trail in front of the cave. This is a seven mile trail that starts here and ends at the Mammoth Cave National Park Visitor’s Center. Enjoy the entire walk if you have time. You should also take the time to catch a tour of Diamond Caverns.
Facing Diamond Caverns, start on the trail to your left, a nice open field will be on your right as you start walking the trail. Go through the imaginary fence. Pass over where water sometimes runs. The path will take two obvious veers to your left after the water run off. See a large “V” cherry tree to your left. Look to the right (across from the “V”). When you see twin towers of power behind the wood line, walk about 5 feet off the path to a twisted tree. At the base of this tree your caveman hides under a rock.
If you come to a opening in the tree line on your right and if you’ve made 3 turns you’ve gone too far.
