Poor Oliver! He recently had to have a stone (urolith) surgically removed from this urethra - ouch!

So, in honor of Oliver, and because it is his creative owner, Gayle's, birthday, this box has been planted by the Lakewood Dog Park (stone substrate) and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (get it?!)

This is almost a drive-by. For more fun, bring your dog along and visit Lakewood’s Dog Park while you’re in the area! Get even more exercise and walk the all purpose trail along the Rocky River.

For help locating this park, go to www.clemetparks.com.

Clues:

At the north end of the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks is located the Lakewood Dog Park (1299 Metropark Drive, Lakewood, OH)where many a dog gets to romp with new friends. To access the dog park, you may park either northwest of the dog park, across the river and across the street in the many parking areas by Sweetwater Landings (where you can rent kayaks or launch your own boat), or east of the park (there is a small lot at the beginning of the drive to the Lakewood Animal Shelter and a larger lot under the bridge if you continue down the Valley Parkway). To find Oliver’s Stone, start at the Lakewood Animal Shelter sign at the end of their drive. Count 90 steps heading toward the Dog Park, which would be roughly a north/northwest direction. At about 70 steps, you will be stepping on a sign on the all purpose trail telling you that it is 0.5 miles Barrett to Detroit. So at 90 steps (20 steps from that sign) you will see a large tree to your right just off the trail, with two sawed off stumps beside it, covered with some sort of ground cover. Carefully step down the little slope, avoiding poison ivy as you go, to the back side of those sawed off areas. Look in the debris in the cavity of the stump to find Oliver’s Stone!

Now go play at the Dog Park, or enjoy a stroll along the river on the all-purpose trail!
