Please remember this is a cemetery.
Please be respectful and its residence will leave you alone.

Your journey starts in an old cemetery, which is actually 3 in one.
As you come over the bridge, look down at Emma, a girl so young.
She stands so still and sad,
it was a tragic accident and not being bad.

As you enter the cemetery, the entrance 1855, take the first left.

As you pass by the small grotto, take time to thank the men who lie here,
they gave their lives for the freedom you hold so dear.

Continue forward and take a right at the “T”.
Follow straight through the next intersection, and then turn left at the next.

When you meet Mr. Groth, who helped build this stone city, turn right.

You will pass Mr. E. Porter, who was once this state’s largest beer brewer, you will notice a small mound.

This is no ordinary pile of earth,
but the remains of the Indians who once lived here.
Near this mound of this country’s first natives,
lays this town’s first Union volunteer,
"I will ask no man to do that, which I would not be willing to do myself", he stated.

Turn to the back of the mound and you will notice an unusual site.
Grave markers here are not upright.

Here you will meet Walton L. Stone and his wife Isabelle.
At their feet you will find something hopefully hidden very well.

FYI - no one is actually burried here. The stone is actually in a tombstone graveyard.

No ink pad. Recommended colors - Spring, summer try greens,
Fall - Brown, orange, yellow.

No Dogs allowed.
