Child Friendly: Yes
Dogs: No - too close to golf course

Spanky, the mascot of Widgi Creek Golf Club, represents the elk sometimes found on the greens of the golf course. An Audobon certified course, Widgi Creek is home of many species of birds, including songbirds, Great Horned Owls, and an occasional Bald Eagle. Deer, coyotes, and a occasional cougar are also found here.

From Bend, drive out Century Drive 4.7 miles toward Mt. Bachelor. Turn left at the Meadow Picnic Area sign onto a dusty gravel road. Please have consideration for golfers and residents of the area and drive slowly.

Watch for a turnout on your right just before the golf course ends. You’ll see a small blue and green sign ahead of you on the right. Park here and walk back along the road until you see three large boulders. If there are golfers present, please be quiet. It’s to your advantage to watch for airborne golf balls. Facing the boulders, look at the farthest left of the three. At its base under smaller rocks you will find the box covered with smaller rocks.

Be careful when reaching into rocks - you don’t know who might be there already.

Please let me know if you were successful.
