BSA Letterbox
Pleasant Hills United Methodist Church
13200 E. Bagley Road. Middleburg Heights,
Exit 71 at Bagley Road head East. Cross Pearl Road the church is on the North side before West 130th street.
This box was planted as part of a “How to Letterbox” presentation given to the cub scout troop that meets at this church. Paw Print and Tiger Cub are two additional boxes being planted.
The Boy Scouts of America was founded in 1910 to provide programs for boys and young adults to build character, develop personal fitness and train to be responsible citizens. The youngest scouts are tiger cubs (age 7) followed by cub scouts, webelos, boy scouts, varsity scouts and venturing scouts (up to age 20). In 2006; 2, 938, 698 boys were involved with one of these scout groups. 1,146,130 adults help lead and organize the activities for the packs.
Clues:
Locate the outdoor seating area. Find the podium or altar. Stand between the fence and the large tree directly behind the altar. Walk 10 paces along the fence in a southwesterly direction. From this “end point” place the tree and fence to your right side and face WNW direction, in your line of site will be a small tree and a large tree behind. Walk 17 paces WNW. (You should be at the large tree you sighted). Now turn SW and walk 8 paces to the log. At the southern end you’ll find your treasure
