From Vale head north on Highway 26 (Glenn St.) toward John Day about 1.2 miles (from the intersection of Washington St. & Glenn St.) to Valley View Rd. which is also sometimes known as Cemetery Rd. Turn left on Valley View Rd. and park in small turn out on right just before old Pioneer Cemetery boundary. Get out and walk west along the fence past the gates of the cemetery until you reach the far corner of the cemetery where the plain wooden fence meets the white painted fence section. At the base of the white fence post is a flat rock. The Pioneer Grave Site #2 Letterbox was placed under the rock.
