This box is located in Milford, NH, in the Burns Holland Farm, conservation land which is owned and managed by the Beaver Brook Association in Hollis, NH. The property was given to Beaver Brook by two gentlemen who wanted their land to be preserved as conservation land.

This is a short easy walk, less than 10 minutes to the box. Hunting is not allowed on this property, but during hunting season you can hear the shots of hunters in the surrounding area. Dress accordingly.

DIRECTIONS TO THE BURNS HOLLAND FARM:
From Route 13, south of Milford, turn west onto Armory Road at the traffic lights just south of the Route 101 overpass. Follow Armory Road for its winding length to the stop sign, where you'll see the Milford Armory on your right. Turn right onto Osgood Road, and shortly turn left/west onto Mason Road. Follow Mason Road for just under a mile. Where Burns Road comes down the hill on the left, look to the right to see a red hydrant and a large log laid across a trail to prevent vehicles from entering. Park on the road shoulder, beyond this spot.

Walk down the trail, crossing the bridge over a brook. Go to the left of the metal gate to continue. See the information kiosk ahead.

Follow the trail into the woods to the left of the kiosk. Go straight. There are trails going off to the left but that's not where you want to go.

Follow the trail a short distance until you come to a large open field. There is a yellow triangle marker here. You will have seen a sign for the Burns Loop Trail.
Look straight across the field to see the yellow triangle that indicates where the trail reenters the woods. Cross the field, and enter the trail on the other side. About 20 feet into the trail look to the left to see a good sized hemlock tree. To its left see a small sassafras tree. During leaf season, its three different leaf shapes will identify it. Without leaves, you'll just have to guess that you've found it. Between and behind these two trees is an old stump. You'll find what you're looking for to the rear of this stump, covered with leaves and twigs.

Before you leave, please return the box to its hiding place, well covered with the leaves and twigs.
