Welcome to Beaver Dam Park. Enjoy hiking and viewing many species of birds and ducks along with reptiles and wild flowers. Parts of the park may look familiar as they are from the movie "Minority Report".

Start at the bathrooms and begin walking along the hiking trail. At the fork in the paths stay to the right and continue walking down the trail. At the second fork, go to the right again. As you pass the first tree on the right with a green disc nailed to it, follow the path until you see a foot bridge on the left. Cross over the foot bridge, and when you reach Post 13, turn left. Continue past Post 17 where there is an observation deck (with a nice view,) and at Post 20 stay left along the path by the water.

When you reach the Hikers Only sign, turn left and cross over the foot bridge. At the "T" in the trail, go left. Along the left-hand side, you will pass a post labeled "Southern Red Oak," then 2 split rail fences, and then another post labeled "Scarlet Oak." Go up the hill with the 4 wooden steps and down the other side. When you cross another foot bridge, turn left on the path as you enter the woods. When the path splits by a stand of 3 trees (before bench,) turn right. Continue on the path to the multi-use trail, and turn right towards Roarings Springs Rd. Head up a slight hill and down the other side.

At the bottom of the hill where the path bends to the left, there is a tree on the left with a blue disc. Standing with your back to the tree, take a heading of 200ยบ for 13 steps to a small fallen tree. Look beneath the roots for the letterbox!

GOOD LUCK
