This box is located in St. Ignace, Michigan in Lakeside Cemetery off of US 2, east of I-75. The cemetery is a quiet little hide-away with a peaceful view of the Mackinac Bridge and Straits.

Easy, 15 minutes. BYO ink.

Directions:

Find Ferry Lane (near Glen’s Market and Family Dollar) off of US 2 in St. Ignace, east of I-75. Go south on Ferry Lane past the bowling alley. Just before 35mph, turn right on Hombach. The road dead ends, turn right on Graham and follow to the cemetery sign. Turn left into the cemetery.

Clues:

Go straight down the middle road.
Park at the Boynton Washington Monument, across the street from Highstone.
Starting at Highstone, find Hattie and Bert behind.
At Hattie, walk 15 steps downhill south
You will see an old stump on your right
Facing southward, turn left and walk 15 steps east
Stop and observe the Big Mac (Macintosh)
Continue walking east past the Sirens
You will see “5 cents” on the right
Continue walking the last few steps to the road
Find the cedar tree with many holes directly across the road next to Gillet
Standing behind the holey tree, walk 7 steps east into the woods to a group of 2 cedar trees. Your treasure lies at the base of the tree under bark and leaves.
Please rehide well and beware of other visitors! Don’t forget to stroll down to the waters edge and enjoy a view of the Straits!

****BE AWARE: This box was last checked on October 9, 2010. The box was in good condition and a new logbook was left. I did notice a strand of barbed wire about a foot high sticking out of the plants at the edge of the woods. Please be careful and watch your feet as you step over it.****
