Hwy (5x10) runs east and west; Hwy (265+30+75+25) runs north and south through Carson City the Capitol of Nevada. At the intersection of these two roads near the center of town head east. Be looking for Slurpeeville first on the right and next on the left. Here take a right heading south where the view is fair. Continue 1.3 miles to the circle in the road and turn 270 degrees until you are heading east. Take the first right onto Carson River Road travel 2 miles all the while enjoying the beautiful pasture land. Soon you will see a ranch named after the metal that Nevada is known for. Don't stop yet until you reach the Carson River Park parking lot. Look for 5 wooden posts and concrete of blue, the trailhead begins here. Follow the trail south for approx. 65 paces and look for the "ribbon of green". Continuing on you will reach an "eating utensil" in the path. Turn west and learn about fields of change before visiting the dock of red. Stop to enjoy and you might even see a fish or two jumping out of the water for a catch of their own. Back on the trail go beyond two picnic tables following the rivers flow. Look for beaver markings, willows on the right and aspens on the left. There will be a slight rise in the elevation as you feel loose sand under foot. Forsake the shortcut on the right and look for the bat house straight ahead on the large cottonwood. Don't get mad find Glad under the rocks and behind the tree that holds the house of bats.
