*** - The speical gift is out of the box at this point for the winter...I should have some in place in the next few weeks! - *** -11/17/11

This 1 1/4 mile loop winds through meadows and woods, and is great for kids, dogs, and grown-ups alike. There are a few nice spots to stop and see wildlife (horses on some days) and some great fishing!

Clues:

Start at the center of Durham by T-Hall on Main St. Follow Main St towards the Field house on left – you will go over a bridge with railroad tracks under you. Follow along main St W ½ a mile until you come to the junction of Mast Road and Spinney Ln.

Follow Spinney Lane for 100 yards – take a left – stay on Spinney ln follow for 500 yards until road forks – stay to the right follow for ½ mile until you come to a large pond and a white pumping house. Park at the pump house.

Starting at the white pump house you will see a trail leading into the woods. You will pass a large log on your left. Follow up the path uphill and you will pass a large uprooted pine tree on your left. You will come to an open area where the berries grow and the horses jump.

Follow the dirt path down between the two pine trees (large one on the right clump of 5 trees on the left) Stay on the path until you come to the dark woods!
Down into the woods you should go and stay on the path. Pass the old run down shack on your left. You will come to a set of wooden fencing and the pond. Nice fishing here from the shore and a beautiful place to sit under the pines off to the right. At the fence look for the pine tree with the yellow letters. Follow the arrow with a P on it for patience look for the telephone pole horse jump bound by ropes. Follow straight and right up the path. You will see the Gables on your right (Large Brick Bldg) and a brown horse jump on left.

As you come into the clearing you will come to Fort Briggs as you come to Fort Brigg look for the large brown log jump by a grove of trees. From this jump look very near for a single cedar tree and one jump on either side of it. Go Over the jump and drop down to the dirt path. Follow the dirt gravel road until you come into the clearing.

Go to the brown wood jump and straight over the log and the two bush's and get on the main path again in 100 yards.

Follow the trail into the clearing and start to go up the small inclinepast a collection of old jumps. Come to the brown jump next to the white house. Look at one end -
Look to the thick forest side and treasure will be there! Enjoy with you friends after a day in the outdoors!

From this point you can walk across the field and you will be back in the main clearing and double back to your car.
