Level of Difficulty: Easy, but does have a long hill.
Time: 45 minutes or so, .7mile round-trip

Directions:

Where’s Bob? was planted at Barberville Falls in Poestenkill, NY. Take I-90 East to Exit 7. Follow Washington Avenue east to Defreestville. Go straight through the light at Route 4, taking Route 43 to West Sand Lake. Approximately 0.7 miles beyond the light in West Sand Lake, turn left onto Route 351. Continue straight through the red light at Route 66 to Poestenkill. In Poestenkill, turn right at the blinking light onto Co. Rte. 40 (Plank Rd.). Continue 1.4 miles to a parking area on the left, across from Broadside Cemetery.

**These are micro-boxes and you will need your own ink pad and a pen.

***Watch out for ticks. I found one on my clothes on my way back to the car.

Clues:

Bob has gone hiking without you down the Creek Trail. Unsure where the trail is, you look at the Barberville Falls’ trail map and notice it is down to the left. (Walk back down the road (.05) to the Creek Trail. There is a sign marking its beginning, right before the guardrail.)

Which Why?

Trying to catch up with Bob, you run all the way down the long hill. As the trail levels and curves, you see a huge boulder on your right. Maybe, Bob is there… You search at the back right side of the boulder and under some rocks. What’s this? OOO, it’ll tell you Which Way?

Take A Rest

You try to use your new find, but it’s broken so you settle for following those mysterious boot tracks continuing down the trail. They lead you to the creek and take you left along the creek. You pass a gigantic boulder and eventually you see a brown “Trail Ends Here” sign on a tree to your right. Hmm, Where’s Bob? You turn around and go 11 paces back down the trail when you hear a noise. You go the huge pine tree on your right, but realize it is further up. With your back against the back of this tree, you walk 9 paces up the hill to a huge rock at your feet. You jump down to follow that noise and look in the crevasse at its base. You move a couple of rocks…. Oh, without finding Bob, you decide to slip off your backpack, swig some water, and Take A Rest.

Bob

Fully rested and disappointed, you continue to head back down the trail. You make a right and start your track back up that long hill. You are almost to the road and you hear Bob! He’s over at the cluster of rocks/boulders on the left side of the trail. You run over to the tall square boulder and peek in the crevasse at its base and move a couple of rocks… Bob, I found you!!!!
