6-12-07 MISSING. i will be carving more soon.
My mom lives in Lompoc and suggested Santa Ynez River Park for a series. Its a lovely park and at the right time of the year the fragrance from the flowers growing next to it is intoxicating.
Clues: Find the park and pass on by all the campers. How many campers are parked here?? Park at the information board with the telephone booth next to it. Don't drive through the park gates that close from 7:30am-dusk. Now would be a good time to check out the park layout map on the info board.
#1. Face the park and on the river side there is a yellow children playing caution sign. Do you see those 2 rung ladders? The box is behind the farthest one under leaves.

#2. Continue walking along the river side of the park on the grass. There is a river access. Is it flowing? Or is it a bunch of ATV's? Pass the kids playground. Do you see any quail? Any sandpipers?
Keep going along the river path. Here comes another kids playground and another river access. Whew all this walking. Now would be a good time to take a break. How about on the bench that is facing the horseshoe pits? Sitting on the bench there are 3 stumps behind the Horseshoe pits. Check out the middle stump out.

#3. Back to the river trail, past the volleyball courts. Do you smell pancake syrup? Make sure you go over and see the Vietnam Memorial. Go towards the chin up bars. You will pass one large white rock on your left. Continue on till you see 3 big and 1 small white rock. Buried on the river side of the largest white rock closest to the flower field with a couple of smallish rocks on top is your final reward.

Walk back to your car on the flower side of the park. Don't forget to feed the ducks at the lake. And just how many speed bumps are there in this park anyway?
