1. Beginning at Springville High School, find “Synergy.”

2. While standing at “Synergy,” take 38 steps due north and stop.

3. Turn 90 degrees to the west and you’ll see three flagpoles. Go and stand under the one that is topped by a representation of Boy Scouting’s highest rank.

4. Freedom might ring here, but one year is missing. Write down the missing year _______________.

5. Stand on the X that marks the spot and spin around in a circle three times. Stop when you can see “Home.”

6. Walk toward “Home” about 170 paces

7. Now, walk toward Mexico for 35 paces, but don’t drink the water.

8. There is a lone pine tree southwest of this spot. Go there next, and as a service to those remembered here, pull a handful of weeds.

9. If you’ll sit with Bob to your right, Rick to your left, and Tammy directly beneath you, find the golden ball. Go there next.

10. From the golden ball, walk west 60 paces.

It’s blue and it’s square.
You might eat some lunch there.

11. There is a trail that leads off to the left and follows the river. Go for a little stroll until you see the second red square. Stand next to it.

12. Within 50 paces
Search High and Low
Keep looking until you find
The number 4040

13. Standing between the two identical rectangles that list this number, look around until you see the closest light pole. As you look toward it, you’ll see that there are two more poles directly behind it. Move to your left or to your right until the two far poles hide behind the near one.

14. You should now be standing on a green rectangle. Turn and face backward. Remember the missing year? Look at the first two numbers in the missing year and walk ahead that many paces.

15. You are very, very warm. Look all around! If you find the letterbox, be sure to look at it closely before you pick it up, so you will know how to put it back. (If you cross the path, you've gone too far).

16. You can use the ink and stamp inside to stamp your hand as proof that you were here, and you can sign the notebook.

(If you have your own letterbox stamp, be sure to stamp your stamp in the notebook inside the letterbox.)

Be sure to put the letterbox back exactly as you found it so others can play! If the letterbox is missing, or tampered with, please send a message to fiveforfamily@comcast.net
