**July 2011: I have been informed that this box was left out in the open and unsealed. The stamp is missing and the logbook ruined.**

This box is located in Dutton Shadyside Park, on Hammond Rd. between 68th SE and 76thSE streets, near the village of Dutton, Michigan. This is a seasonal township park (no fee), the gates may be closed during the winter months, but the park is still accessible from the main road. This is a very busy park at all times of the year, please be discreet.

Easy, 20-30 minute stop. Modern facilities. BYO ink and compass.

Directions:
From 68th Street SE, between Hanna Lake Ave SE and Patterson Ave SE, turn south onto Dutton Road. Where Dutton Road meets Hammond Rd, turn right at the stop sign. Go about a ½ mile, the park is on the west side of the road. Enter and park at the second (south) entrance at the Dutton Shadyside Park sign.

Clues:
In the park is a winding creek,
Cross an object of wood.
See a bass?
Take a peek!

Curving around,
Then continue on straight ahead,
Look for an object,
that’s stacked five high and red.

Stairs and slides
and games you can play,
Now on to the mound
where a pitcher would stay.

Pretend you’re the pitcher,
A fastball you sail
Look to the west,
do you see a trail?

Into the woods,
a nature lovers dream
Walk a few minutes,
always follow the stream

After a while,
the trail splits in two
Head up a hill,
that’s what you must do.

Stop at the top,
go twenty three paces,
Turn to the north west
Look for trees that have faces

Twenty paces in,
some rotten logs rest,
Your challenge is ending,
“Y,” I hope you have guessed!

Go back to the trail,
which way should you go?
If you think towards the water…
the answer is “No!”

A fork soon awaits you
A choice you must make
Left is the wrong way
Now you know which one to take

When the next fork appears
You must continue on straight
If you go the other way
You will for sure come home late

The last fork’s upon you
Now go to the right
Walk past the big leaves,
This looks scary at night!

Stay to the left
For the final embark
You should now see the grass
And be back at the park!
