The official state meal for Oklahoma was declared by the state legislature in 1988 to be: Fried okra, squash, cornbread, barbecue pork, biscuits, sausage and gravy, grits, corn, strawberries, chicken fried steak, pecan pie and black-eyed peas! Yum, yum!

From Highway 75, South of Durant, before reaching the state line, take the exit for the Denison Dam (Highway 91), watch for Wendy's Drive before you reach the dam, and follow it to the EAST Burns Run Campground.
After entering the EAST Burns Run turn at the first left (across from the RV Dump Station).
You will come to a group shelter on your right with a trail beginning behind it.
Take the trail NW and cross the bridge. Continue along the trail a short distance. As the trail starts to make a left turn you will see brick restrooms ahead.
Stop. Leave the trail at a right angle and walk approximaely 30 paces (ours are about 28" perpace) into the clearing. Stand with your back to the restrooms @ 60 degrees.
You'll see a broad mowed right of way ahead of you. Walk about 20 paces toward it and as you reach it step up to its higher level. Take 8 paces and to your left will be a huge cedar. On the east side of the cedar, about shoulder high, you'll find your meal!

Note: Check out the Celtic Lions' "Lake Texoma" box while you're here.
