THIS BOX IS MISSING. I'M NOT SURE THAT I WILL REPLACE IT. IF I DO, I WILL UPDATE THESE CLUES. (6/10/07)

This letterbox was planted in honor of my father who turned 90 years old on October 13, 2006. He was born on a Friday the 13th but has always enjoyed good luck, much like Mr. Magoo. For that that reason, Magoo is one of his nicknames. He is still very active and enjoys letterboxing as well as race walking, swimming, dancing and a variety of other activities. So, join me in wishing him a happy 90th and good wishes for many more to come!!

To find this letterbox go to Illinois Beach State Park. Park in the lot near the Nature Center. From the parking lot, find the Dead River Trail and walk south. There are so many possible hiding spots for letterboxes along this trail! Walk to the overlook (observation deck). After stopping to look for wildlife go back to the trail. Head south for 44 paces and look to your left for a gnarley looking tree with a broken “arm” pointing south. Look inside the “arm” for Mr. Magoo.
