Find the trailhead to the Primitive Camping hiking trail.

Go to the summit.
Take a left at the four-way intersection.
A few paces down the trail, before the trail takes a dextral bend, spot 7 twisted oaks in a cluster to the right of the trail.
Find the letterbox nestled at the base of the trees.
