CHECKED ON THE STATUS OF THIS BOX AUGUST 9, 2008 AND WAS NOT ABLE TO FIND IT. YOU ARE WELCOME TO TRY YOURSELF AS IT IS POSSIBLE IT WAS MOVED BY THE LAST BOXER.

Blue Mountain - 2 miles, moderately difficult, steep. Awesome views. Firetower on top. The trailhead parking for both trails is on Rt. 30 North of Blue Mountain Museum. The mountain trail is marked in red. The pond trail is marked in yellow. The pond trail intersects the Northville-Lake Placid Trail. Bear right at the junction.
CLUES:
Once you have located the parking lot and signed in proceed up the trail to the Blue Mountain fire tower. Along the way you will come across an abandoned sign in "booth". Face the booth and sight along to a large maple tree surrounded by several rocks. Walk to this maple tree which is on the edge of a small clearing. Look carefully around the edge of the clearing for twin balsam fir trees. Walk over to these trees and then scan the area for triplets - an apple, a cherry and an ironwood tree. Up along side the ironwood is a moss covered rock and behind the rock is the letterbox covered with leaves, sticks and pine needles. This small clearing is the perfect place to stamp in as it is just secluded enough that hikers can not see you.

I hope you proceed up the mountain as you will be rewarded with a spectacular view of the area.
